What happened at RMIT

RMIT University was the first university to take on the challenge. Students were chosen as Lords and Ladies, founded realms and ran an economy under King William. Every round, each leader stood before the King to report what they had committed to, and what they had actually delivered.

What the academics said

Dr Alvedi Sabani
“It’s hard to deliver a class for three hours. It’s been more than three hours and they’re still engaged and energetic. That is absolutely fabulous.”

Dr Moh Farah
“Tangibility really gets the students starting straight away. When we give them conceptual ideas and challenges, it takes a while for them to form in their heads.”

Who is behind WISC

Twenty years of learning by doing

WISC was created by Clinton Swaine, founder of Frontier Trainings and creator of the Realms of Plantasia simulation.

For more than twenty years, Clinton has designed and run experiential learning programmes around the world, with students, entrepreneurs, executives and organisations: leadership, strategy, communication, negotiation, teamwork and decision-making, learned by doing. The simulation at the heart of WISC has been played more than 175 times internationally.

WISC is the next stage of that work: an international arena where university students represent their institutions, compete against their peers and find out how well they can apply what they have learned.

Register your university’s interest

Tell us who you are and which competition interests you. Clinton or a member of the Frontier Trainings team will be in touch personally. There is no cost to the university or its students.

Realms of Plantasia WISC is organised by Frontier Trainings. The simulation at its heart is Realms of Plantasia.
