What to bring: *Bedding – e.g. sleeping bag, blankets, sheets, pillows etc. Bedding is available from the venue for hire for an additional $5 per night if you do not wish to bring them. *Layers of clothing – The weather varies on a daily basis so make sure that you bring clothing that could be suitable for hot or cold weather. *Toiletries – e.g. a towel, soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. *An umbrella or poncho (Optional) *A Torch (Optional) *A Water bottle (Recommended) *Walking/Hiking shoes (Recommended) *Dry/Non-perishable snacks (Recommended) *Sun Block (Recommended)
Logistics:
Cost: The cost to stay on site is $35 USD per person (if paid in advance or $40 USD if paid at the venue) per day that you attend the event. To pay for your accommodation in advance, please fill out the form by clicking HERE.
Meals: Each individual is responsible for providing their own meals. There are some shops fairly close to Gilwell (within 30 minutes).
On the first day of each course, extra time is alloted to allow you to go to the shops and purchase food. If you do not have transportation at Gilwell, there are many other students with cars who are happy to carpool. If you need a ride just ask around and we will make sure you are looked after.
**Please be aware that refrigerator/freezer space is VERY limited. This being the case, please bring as much non-perishable food as possible.
Location: Gilwell park is located east of the Dandenong Ranges, 75km from Melbourne (Via Belgrave and Gembrook) It can also be easily reached from the south and east (23km from Pakenham), or from the north (20km from Launching Place)
