Do you want to be able to protect yourself against threats in your business?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then Strategic Brilliance is for you.

SB1This program teaches advanced tools and techniques for strategizing your way to success. In a fully immersive environment, you will get to learn, experience and train these over four solid days.

During Strategic Brilliance you will learn a range of strategic-planning skills including: minimizing risk while maximizing results; rapidly evaluating multiple opportunities; building strategic alliances; anticipating your opponents moves; thinking ahead, planning for contingencies and so much more.

This course features an array of games each of which gives you the opportunity to strategize in a different way, whether it’s finding the right allies, managing resources effectively, creating longevity for the future, conquering new territory or simply surviving. Each game gives the opportunity to train skills in: emotional management, lateral thinking, situation analysis and risk mitigation.

SB4These games are designed to put students under immense pressure where their in-game choices will mean victory… or defeat. In business, it’s far easier to think, plan and prepare when you don’t have stress, but often when you most need those skills, there is pressure – whether it’s due to time, money, personnel, competition etc. – and the people who weather these storms are usually the ones who’ve prepared.

Our training room is designed to make the games more pressurized and difficult than what you would normally face in the real world. This way, when you need to think critically, manage resources, handle personnel or go up against the competition in real life – it feels easy in comparison.

Along with these games, students will learn an array of hand-picked strategies, not only to apply in their dealings, but to watch out for in their competition.

SB2So if you are someone who would like to learn and train the skills to become an expert strategist, then this program is for you. Like all Frontier Trainings courses, it is fast, to the point and is based on application, feedback and Action Steps for rapid implementation once the training is over.

So come join us to learn these incredible skills so that you can weather any storm with ease and clarity.

Key Concepts

Strategic Brilliance

EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT

How do you perform under pressure? Do you get easily frustrated, disgruntled, stressed or agitated? Most people find it much more difficult to think clearly and achieve  their goals under such circumstances. In adverse conditions, those who succeed are those who can think calmly under pressure and maintain their ‘poker face’.

Training these critical thinking skills under pressure allows you to work your muscles in keeping calm and collected so that when you really need to, you can think clearly and do what needs to be done from a place of clarity and power.

PICKING BATTLES

Any pressurized moment in life can turn into a heated argument or escalate to conflict, but most shouldn't. In business, you must have the energy and confidence to stand up for yourself when it matters, but also know when to back down. Whether you fight too much or too little, it’s important to find balance and know what will be constructive.

One of the most important skills is to learn where the ‘line of conflict’ should be. Is the situation so distressing that it needs to be addressed? If not, it may be better to let it go. If it is, you must learn the ways to address it properly and with tact. The games in Strategic Brilliance will assist you to find this line and experience what it’s like on both sides.

MODELING MASTERS

Napoleon, George Washington, Julius Caesar, Queen Elizabeth I, Abraham Lincoln, Peter The Great…

These leaders were masters of strategy. They redefined warfare, innovation and what it means to lead. They understood their long-term visions and did what it took to achieve them; they managed their scarce resources with expert precision; they could execute their plans even under duress and they understood what it took to build a championship team.

Not all of them were liked, not all of them were able to keep their empires, but by studying how they made their rise to greatness and what pitfalls they faced, we can take the lessons and use them to our advantage.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Managing resources effectively – whether it be time, money, staff, energy etc. – is essential to the success of any business. This means knowing your resources inside and out; knowing their limitations and their breakdowns. When you know your resources you can plan their proper allotment and ensure that, even in the event of an emergency, the plan stays in effect and that contingencies and backups are in place.

In the games, you will be challenged with your resources. During many, there will multiple resources to regulate and, seemingly, not enough time in which to plan. But the more familiar you become with quickly analyzing the numbers and allocating accordingly, the easier planning and accurately managing your resources will become.

RISK MITIGATION

What risks will be worth it long-term? What risks might bring an organization to its knees? Planning risk mitigation is essential to reducing threats and enhancing opportunities. Effective risk mitigation tracks everything: monitoring identified risks, identifying new risks and evaluating risk process effectiveness.

Sometimes a risk must be accepted as part of a project without making efforts to control it; others you may simply avoid by adjusting your methods; some must be  monitored and controlled to minimize the impact or likelihood… Each of these must be clearly identifiable to the decision maker and a plan must be made for how to manage each situation. Even if that person won’t always be you, practicing to recognize these risks is a very beneficial skill to have.

BIG PICTURE

Much like picking your battles for the sake of the long-term, to strategize well you must  be able to step back and look at the big picture from an analytical perspective. What’s really going on? What are the risks? What will be the long-term effect of your decision?

Being able to remove yourself from the emotions and the chaos and the ‘doing-ness’ is a skill that few inherently possess, but will do wonders for your ability to make more educated and well-planned decisions.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCES

Who do you want on your side? Ideally it should be someone with whom you have common goals, values or visions. In some cases, however, you may want to play with the concept “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” or “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”. It is important to be familiar with making a variety of alliances.

It’s wonderful to have the freedom to choose with whom you ally. In life you’ll nearly always be able to weed out those who don’t share your goals and values; but sometimes, when things go wrong, hard decisions must be made and it becomes important to have the confidence and the know-how to work along side those with whom your only common interest is survival. Even if you never have to use it, knowing how to pick your allies is a skill that every person should have in both business and life.

NEGOTIATION SKILLS

The courses creates an open environment for negotiating and lays down the principle that ‘Everything is Negotiable’. In the games, students get to test their attitudes, skills to negotiating as well as the ability to identify opportunities to negotiate and then to implement their skills to test the results in an educational and realistically environment. This one skill alone has made a profound affect on students when they realize that it takes six attempts on major transactions before most deals are concluded and teaches the students to go back and back and back.

PLANNING

One of the most important part of this program is the ability to think multiple moves ahead. Like a chess master, a skilled strategist can plot a variety of possible courses, foresee future outcomes and anticipate an opponent’s moves to prepare for all contingencies. There are a number of games where strategic planning is important in allowing you to get the desired result with the least amount of risk.
